John Coltrane’s “After the Rain”

After all this rain on the East Coast I offer this recording of John Coltrane’s “After the Rain” to help you give thanks for the change in the weather pattern coming up this week. 

This is an uncharacteristically simple performance by Coltrane but just as intense.  His approach is calming and peaceful and this recording could serve as a perfect background for a meditation session.

We need rain to make the flowers grow and we need ‘Trane to make our powers grow… Yes I just came up with that.  If nothing else, listening to Coltrane will improve your ability to hear more details in music and that can’t be a bad thing at all.
