Hip Hop - Beats, Bars and Lyrical Analysis

I came across this recent video post from Vox about the development of rhythmic and syllabic complexity in hip hop.  I did this same analysis back in 2003 with my dissertation but I used Run DMC, Big Daddy Kane, Busta Rhymes and an underground MC Priest da Nomad.
