To continue with our exploration of Trinidad here's a video from 1956 of Pete Seeger and the folkways team visiting Trinidad and documenting the construction of steel pans.
The following video is an amazing performance by the Silver Star steel pan group from 2013. The performance shows the range of musicianship that is required to perform some of the challenging arrangements for steel pan. Plus it's also fun to watch the conductor and the musicians enjoying the music so much that they dance around with the same conviction with which they play.
